Brief synopsis: Months after Jules' family is turned upside down by the disappearance of his cousin Gail, he stumbles into her by chance and gets a shot at figuring out what went wrong and how to help.
major characters:
Jules (Julian) -- MC and POV character. early 20something trying and struggling to adjust to proper adulthood or figure out what he wants to do in life, caretaker at heart if still kind of immature.
Gail -- either slightly older or slightly younger, the smart one among her siblings and often in the family at large, who often kept to herself, but still cared and seems happy enough that her sudden disappearance was a shock to everyone. now a raw, sullen mess for reasons she refuses to explain.
Day (Damian) -- Jules' twin, the quiet one between the two of them but opens up a little around their brother. thoughtful, good at big-picture, slightly more mature. Nonbinary (they/them).

Brief synopsis: Superpowers exist, with a price: those with these powers have shorter lifespans to begin with, especially those who are particularly powerful, and using them more can cause further health complications. The Sundrop Center is one of many places across the world opened to take in powered individuals in the attempt to help prevent their powers from taking that toll on them, and while most of those places have their own issues, it's one of the more positive ones, until a media frenzy leads to the center being shut down. The former residents are less than pleased with their sudden freedom, the media storm surrounding it, the loss of their built family within the walls, and the closing of the one place where they knew what was expected from them.
major characters:
Frankie -- early 50s, empath. an awkward and emotionally stunted person because of how his early years were spent, but inclined towards kindness, especially with the younger people who came to the center. Alice -- late 20s, telekinetic. Angry and frustrated, and extremely good at self-control in every definition of it. Probably our POV character if I ever write this properly.
Sam -- 20, shapeshifter. basically a unit with his brother. extremely traumatized by his family and deals with it by using his powers more than he should. likes to be a cat, or anything else small.
Tom -- 20, voice manipulation. basically a unit with his brother, same as Sam in most respects. only Sam really knows what his actual voice sounds like.
Joey -- 18/19, pyrokinetic. bouncy sweet extremely loving trans girl from a family who understands nothing about her.

genre/format: Paranormal mystery, novel, definitely not a series I swear
Brief synopsis: A PI looking into a rash of sudden, unexplained deaths finds herself also suddenly dead. This thrusts her into a world of new rules, uncertain friendships, desperation, and determination. What it doesn't do is keep her from looking for the person who killed her, now accompanied by other victims looking to answer the question hanging over their afterlives, an angry half-faded ghost looking for a new purpose, and her partner in life, once she convinces him his power to speak to the dead was never actually his imagination after all.
major characters:

Brief description: Several planes of existence are linked together by reality anchors whose job is to keep all the worlds running in various ways. When a Death-figure who works as a college professor starts finding a bunch of students with weird abilities, something that usually develops where the planes thin and bleed into each other, showing up in his class, questions start to form about whether this is coincidence or something bigger. The questions do not stop him from adopting all of them, though.
Also: Sometime after that, a magical explosion mixes with the remains of a previous death-cult's attempt to make zombies, and the dead start walking, memories wiped and magical concentrations doing strange things to their senses of self.
major characters:

There's a murky, dreamy, half-real world underneath, where the personifications serve their lands and their aspects under their Lords and Ladies. There's something sharp and deliberate above. And sometimes things slip away from where they're born or made, and find a new life for themselves in the world between.
Somewhere in all this, there's this little house full of runaways who've made a family for themselves together, and the bar they run and work at.
current focuses:
- figuring out the runaways original purposes/who else is involved there
- figuring out the lay of the personifications lands
- figure out the other level (GIMME MY ANGELS BABY)

Brief description: Magic exists, and it interacts with the people who have it. It's a voice at the back of your head; a sixth, seventh, eight sense; a second layer of sight showing you what other people may not know. Occasionally sarcastic -- the voice at the back of your head is not a metaphor -- and always out for its own benefit, whether that hurts or helps you, it builds unique, symbiotic relationships with each person who "catches" it. Magic has a mind of its own, and it has no problem telling you how ridiculous it thinks you are.
A series of stories, showcasing various people's relationship with their magical tagalong and how they affect each other.
current focuses:
- I lost the list of various ideas for how things would work for people, so I should remake that
